Welcome to My World

Hey everyone. Miles here. This blog is titled "All That I Am in Writing". I called it this as I enjoy things such as drama, writing, sports, superheroes and I also enjoy life. There's always something interesting happening everyday and that's part of life, so those are my reasons for calling it that. I'm 20 years old and I'm currently studying Creative Writing and Drama at De Montfort University. I'm the first of my family to go to university and the reason I chose this joint honours subject was because I learnt that I wanted to keep up my writing as well as acting. I'm really enjoying the course and life in Leicester and I feel that I have a lot to look forward to.








Now, I already have a blog called "Drama Sports Life and Writing" which I created at the start of the year. I created this blog as part of a Creative Writing workshop, so this will be completely different to the blog I already have.










So, for this first blog, I'm going to talk about an upcoming event that's going to take place round the corner. This event is called the Cultural Exchanges Festival 2017. This is where different events and activities will be happening for the next couple of days. This will be useful for all students who do a subject in arts, design and humanities. There's so many events happening on different days such as a poetry launch, a demon crew talk, a lost and found short story event and all sorts. If I write them all, I'll be here all day.




There's a number of events that are taking part during the week. At first, I was indecisive with these events as there was so many to choose from and we were allowed to choose four in total. In the end, I managed to choose four events that I really liked and four that are related to writing and some parts of drama. I'm really looking forward to attending these events! Still learning more about poetry, short stories and novels, but I also want to learn more about scriptwriting as I find it interesting and I want to learn more about every feature of writing. Plus, two of the events I've chosen are related to scriptwriting and sending them to people for guidance and how to improve upon them.


The events I'm really looking forward to is the Lost and Found Writing Short Stories and Ears to the ground - an event for writers with BBC writers room as they're all writing events and based on writing and sending scripts of work away, so there's that to look forward to! Our lecturers are always saying to us to take advantage of these events as they're all exciting and learnable activities where we can all learn something new. I chose these four because they're all related to Creative Writing. Whenever I attend an event, I'm going to be writing a review so keep a look out!
